This was written when I was in 3rd year at High School, during an English class:

Once, 4,000 years ago there were 2 Deities; Bast the cat headed Goddess and Annubis the jackel headed God. Both were friends and the whole of Egypt rejoyced when they walked by for Bast was the Goddess of joy and life and Annubis was the guardian os the dead and living.
Seth, the God of chaos was envious of this friendship and plotted to seperate them. One day when Bast was at the funeral of one of her sacred cats with her followers, the shape-shifters, Seth went to Annubis and told him that Bast intended to overthrow him. Angered by this, Annubis ordered that from that day on, for all eternity, dog would chase cat in order to kill it. When Bast returned a great pain filled her head and she saw a powerful amulet of Annubis that was meant to destroy her. Heart heavy with sorrow and anger, she left. In her temple, she had an amulet of Annubis placed in memory of her friend. That night Seth swapped the 2 amulets over. The following morning Bast went to try and find out why Annubis suddenly hated her so much. Upon being told that she wanted to overthrow him, she ran back to her temple and ordered her shape-shifters to destroy the amulet. Shocked, but determined to obey, they did as they were told and destroyed the amulet, killing Annubis. Bast nourned for many days before trying to revive her friend. After many years, with the help of her sister Isis, Annubis was restored to life; but a worse fate was to befall Bast when 5 invaders craving power broke into her temple intent on taking Bast's power by destroying her followers. Taking the amulet of Annubis, they started to recite the words to destroy Bast. Luckily, one of her followers was hidden in the temple and managed to kill the leader and threw the amulet out of reach. Annubis took the amulet, removed his power from it and destroyed it. The invaders had died because of their craving for all the power in the World. But the amulet of Annubis was no more.
